Classification of reverse osmosis membrane cleaning agents
Reverse osmosis scale inhibitor is a high-efficiency scale inhibitor specially developed for reverse osmosis RO system. The dirt and sediment accumulated on the reverse osmosis membrane will deteriorate the permeability, reduce the permeability, frequent shutdown, increase water consumption and energy consumption. It is necessary to replace the reverse osmosis membrane in advance, which increases the investment cost of the enterprise. The reverse osmosis membrane cleaning agent is an important agent to remove the impurities of the reverse osmosis membrane.
Classification of reverse osmosis agents
1. Acid cleaning agent
Acid cleaning agent is generally a liquid formula with low pH value, and there are also solids. The pH value is basically 2.5-3.5. It is mainly used to remove calcium carbonate and other scaling. It is suitable for most reverse osmosis membranes, hollow fiber membranes, nanofiltration membranes and ultrafiltration membranes in the market. Under normal circumstances, acid cleaning agent will be used together with alkaline cleaning agent.
2. Alkaline cleaning agent
Alkaline detergent is a liquid formula with high pH value, which is generally about 11. It is mainly used to remove organic matter, sludge and other particles attached to the membrane surface. It is suitable for most reverse osmosis membranes, hollow fiber membranes, nanofiltration membranes and ultrafiltration membranes in the market. Generally, alkaline cleaning agent will be used together with acid cleaning agent.
Typical application
During the operation of the membrane separation system, organic matter in the influent will accumulate on the membrane surface. The emergence of organic matter provides an environment for the growth of microorganisms, which leads to microbial fouling. These dirt hinder the flow of water through the membrane, resulting in reduced water production, increased operating pressure and additional differential pressure in the system, resulting in irreparable damage to the reverse osmosis membrane. In addition, the accumulation of dirt under the membrane surface will increase the dissolved substances passing through the membrane, resulting in poor water quality. Scale shall be removed by on-site cleaning or off-line cleaning before deterioration of production water quality or membrane damage. Cleaning is required when the following signs appear. The infiltration water volume decreases significantly, the system differential pressure increases significantly, or the salt infiltration increases, resulting in poor water quality. At this time, the reverse osmosis membrane cleaning agent should be used immediately to clean the impurities on the reverse osmosis membrane, so as to ensure the quality and service life of the membrane.
